You'd think a 2006 game would be running at a screamingly high framerate especially since I can run Skyrim above 100fps and Fallout 4 in the 80's to 90's both WITH graphics mods installed (though it did take some work to unlock the framerate in both cases).īut Oblivion is running in the 40's or even the 30's. I have an RTX 2070 with 8GB GDDR6 VRAM, an i7-7700K overclocked at 4.8 GHz and 16GB of RAM.

I get Oblivion doesn't have the most active modding community but I've seen so many videos that claim that their mod list remastered the game when what I get hardly looks like they're final product. I'm simply looking for a mod (or any other tips / tweaks) that make the game look less dull, whether that's simply through applying filters, or actually changing how the light behaves.

So my dilemma is that I've gotten both of those mods and I kinda like all natural, but it's still not doing enough for me to be satisfied, and Oblivion Reloaded isn't exclusive to just graphics which isn't what I want. So I've been looking at remastering oblivion, and I've got to a point where I'm pretty satisfied, but the lighting still looks very much like the original game, and all the mod lists / forums / tutorials that supposedly fix that point to only two mods: All Natural, and Oblivion Reloaded. Now if only I could solve this framerate problem (I've posted about that elsewhere). Following a mod guide this time seems to have helped. I can see from my save records I tried once a couple of years ago to play again, I believe I ran up against a freeze problem I couldn't resolve. This is my second time playthrough, my first was seven years ago shortly after I was done with Skyrim the first time. I know this is the Oblivion board, you all must prefer Oblivion here.
